SABBATICAL
Sabbatical Details
Unfortunately, few people plan a sabbatical to proactively prevent burnout; rather most burn out; then plan a sabbatical. Regardless of which of those describes you, it’s important to have a sabbatical plan to optimize your time so that you come back refreshed and with new vision and energy. So it’s important to make a plan, prepare for the sabbatical, and then make a re-entry plan. We can coach you through your sabbatical to help you make the most of it.
During the first phase, it’s important to take time to focus on rest, renewal, and recovery where you debrief some and establish a pace for your sabbatical - healthy rhythms that can be continued afterward. In the next phase, it’s important to make sure that you refresh yourself with activities that energize you. Finally, the focus is on realigning, repurposing, and refocusing so that you return with new visions and maybe some necessary adjustments to your life and assignments.
